Attuned for Centers

Welcome to Attuned! For over ten years, I have been immersed in Chicago's world of early childhood education as a teacher, teacher coach, and education coordinator. By researching local daycares and applying my knowledge of the field, I provide Chicago parents with an informed perspective on their childcare search.

For you, the childcare provider, I offer Professional Development and consultation in a number of different areas. In this way, I form relationships with local daycares and ensure I am sending families to the best of the best.

Professional Development

Ongoing training is a requirement for early childhood educators. While many find it a burden, I believe it doesn't have to be. By attuning to your center's needs and values, I can provide hands-on professional development, in the following areas, that will engage, energize, and empower your staff.

Play-Based Learning

Open-Ended Art and Activities

Parent Engagement     Quality Lesson Plans

Reggio Emilia Approach     Documentation

Classroom Arrangement     Outdoor Learning

Preschool Science     Early Literacy

Challenging Behaviors

Custom workshops and one-on-one consultations are also available. Contact me for scheduling and pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your background and why are you qualified to lead professional development?

Positions I have held include teacher, teacher coach, education coordinator, lecturer, and administrator. I have experience in non-profit and private centers and have worked with children ages 3 months to 18 years in a variety of settings.

I hold a Master's in Child Development from Erikson Institute, a certificate in Early Childhood Education from Harry S. Truman College, and am director-qualified.

I have written and presented professional development curriculums for several centers across Chicago. I am happy to share my resume or samples of my work upon request!

Can our center request a training in an area you don't have listed?

Yes, please do! I am very comfortable speaking to nearly every aspect of teaching and caring for young children. If I have not written a PD curriculum on a subject, I will do the work and create one, tailored especially for your team. We can brainstorm topics that would be both interesting and beneficial to your staff. I am all about fun, interactive workshops that both teach and team-build.

Are these trainings registered with Gateways?

Does participating in a training ensure you will recommend our center to your clients?

I will only ever recommend a center to clients based on their family's needs, not which centers have employed me. My glowing reviews have to be earned. That said, getting to know your staff through a workshop would give me wonderful insight into your center's program and culture.

No, these are not official Gateways training sessions, but they do count toward required hours. My trainings can be documented as Self-Reported.
